ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A mother and her daughter from Las Vegas, Nevada were killed in a rollover crash on I-40 near Santa Rosa Monday morning.
New Mexico State police believe the driver was traveling eastbound on I-40 may have fallen asleep and woke up when they hit the rumble strips, overcorrected, rolled the car and finally landing in the westbound lanes of traffic.
The two women, identified as 27-year-old Sharai Hart and 57-year-old Nadine Hart were both killed in the crash. At this time officials say they are not sure who was driving.
A 9-year-old male passenger was airlifted to UNMH where he is listed in very serious condition.
Police say everyone in the car was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, but one woman was still ejected.
