ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Fireworks are officially banned in Bernalillo County.
Commissioners voted unanimously on the ban Tuesday night.
Fireworks that shoot up or out in the unincorporated areas of the county are no longer allowed.
Albuquerque's city council passed a similar ban earlier this month.
The deadline for more cities and counties to approve drought-based fireworks restrictions is at least 20-days before a holiday, like July 4th.
