ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - An Albuquerque attorney recently picked to sit on the state's highest court is now officially his party's choice to fill the seat permanently.
Last week, Governor Martinez picked Paul Kennedy to fill a vacant seat on the state Supreme Court.
Saturday the state Republican Central Committee nominated Kennedy as the GOP candidate for the November election.
Kennedy first served on the New Mexico Supreme Court back in 2002.
State democrats chose Chief District Judge Barbara Vigil as their party's general election candidate for the New Mexico Supreme Court last month.
