SILVER CITY, N.M. (KRQE) - The Silver Fire burning in the Gila National Forest continues to grow, expanding by another 26,000 acres over the last two days.
As of Sunday morning, the blaze has burned more than 70,000 acres.
Fire officials say the hot spots of the fire are on the north end.
More than 400 firefighters continue battling the massive blaze that is still 20-percent contained.
Even as the fire continues to grow no structures have been lost and none are threatened at this time.
Two helicopters and tankers are standing by.
