HATCH, N.M. (KRQE) - For the second time in about a year, the village of Hatch is without a top cop.
The Las Cruces Sun News reports Hatch village trustees voted unanimously to fire police chief Mike Vega citing a personnel issue.
Vega is Hatch's second police chief terminated since the summer of 2012.
Trustees fired former Chief Danny Ross, claiming insubordination.
Ross has denied those claims.
For now, Sgt. Dale Harrison will oversee the police force made up of eight commissioned officers.
Manners matter especially during the holiday season.
