ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Albuquerque police report an 8-year-old boy reported to have run off from his grandmother's home Saturday morning has been found safe and returned to his family.
Nicolas Leeper became upset when he was told he couldn't go out and play with friends but later went out the back door, hopped a fence and headed north.
That was at about 10 a.m. in the jurisdiction of the Albuquerque Police Department Foothills command, which butts up against the Sandia Mountains. Just before 6 p.m. police reported the boy had been located but gave no details beyond say he was OK and that there was no foul play involved in his disappearance
When it's cold outside Albuquerque and Rio Rancho's homeless sometimes count on the kindness of strangers to keep warm.
