SANTA FE (KRQE) - Police have arrested a young woman wanted for a purse snatching that almost killed a woman.
Santa Fe police say in January, Ashley Richardson, 22, grabbed the purse from a 77-year-old woman at the Albertson's on St. Francis Drive.
The victim fell down so hard she suffered brain swelling and nearly died.
Police caught up with Richardson after she was arrested in another case in Dallas. She was extradited to Santa Fe this week.
Richardson told police she only remembers being high on meth at the time of the incident. She's now charged with robbery and larceny.
