ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - It was another sad day for a family in Albuquerque after it buried a little boy Wednesday, who was killed in what police say was a drunk driving crash.
Vicente Griego died in August a few days after police say Mariano Salaz was drunk and slammed into the Griego's car.
Vicente's family wanted to wait until Wednesday to bury his ashes, that is when Vicente would've turned 3-years-old.
"Drunk driving is a big issue, I mean look what it did…It took my son away," Vicente's father, Jonathan Griego, said. "I feel like this guy's just trying to get away with it…who hurt my son. He killed my son actually."
Salaz has pled not guilty to DWI and vehicular homicide.
He is still in jail on a $250,000 bond.
If you're looking for something fun to do with the kids this weekend, or if you just want to get into the holiday spirit yourself, head out the Anderson Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum.
This is something I would have wanted to do as a kid during my winter break: Destination Moon Camp! Here to tell us all about this is Michelle Watkins with the Challenger Learning Center New Mexico.
Dinner rolls are a wonderful compliment to those holiday dishes, and shaping dough is quite easy.
