ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Thieves are targeting cars at night, stealing all four tires off of them.
The owners wake up in the morning to find their vehicles on blocks.
Police say the tire thefts spiked about six months ago and they're hitting neighborhoods all over the city.
Tammy Johnson is one of the victim's. She noticed her tires missing Monday morning when she was about to leave for work.
And she was not the only one hit in her area near Academy and Tennyson.
“From my understanding, there were four from our neighborhood and three homes across the street on Lowell and Academy,” she said.
Police say the thieves are quick, probably work in teams and target high-end cars and SUVs.
Some arrests have been made.
