ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A pedestrian was badly hurt Wednesday night after being hit by a suspected drunk driver.
The man was crossing the street near Central and Wyoming when he was hit by an oncoming car. Witnesses say was the care was moving extremely fast.
Police say Fernando Garcia, 27, was driving and his three children, ages 13, 8 and 5, were in the car.
They say it was clear Garcia had been drinking and he later admitted to taking three shots within 45 minutes of driving. He also blew above the legal limit.
Officers arrested Garcia for one count of great bodily harm by vehicle and three counts of child abuse.
As for the pedestrian, police say he suffered multiple broken bones to both legs and possibly a broken clavicle.
