ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The Arizona pastor who hit and killed a man changing a flat tire on the side of Interstate 40 was sentenced to jail Thursday.
Wayne Salguero was charged with vehicular homicide for veering off I-40 near Carlisle Boulevard NE in 2011 and hitting Timothy Sheehan , 23, a McAlister's Deli delivery driver.
Last month, however, prosecutors said Salguero was driving the speed limit and that there was no evidence he was on his cell phone.
So Salguero pleaded no-contest to careless driving and was sentenced to 45 days in jail, half the maximum of 90 days.
He has until July 5 to turn himself in.
