ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The man accused of breaking out of an Arizona prison and killing a couple in New Mexico has not been playing by the rules at the Santa Fe pen.
John McCluskey is accused of carjacking then killing Oklahoma couple Gary and Linda Haas as they traveled through Santa Rosa back in 2010.
He is now in the Santa Fe state prison awaiting trial and according to documents obtained by KRQE News 13 McCluskey was found with a shank in his cell early last year.
Later that year, correction officers found a psycho-active drug known as "benzo" in McClusky's system after a random drug test.
Mccluskey served two months in disciplinary segregation for the drugs and a month for the shank.
His federal trial is scheduled for this summer.
