ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A woman walking with her young daughter says a man tried to force her into his van this weekend.
It happened Saturday near a bus stop at 56th and central in Albuquerque.
The woman says she and her 12-year-old were walking home when she saw a man.
Now identified as Orin Kristich parked on the side of the road as if he had broken down.
She says when she passed him, he made some vulgar comments, then grabbed her by the forearm and tried to drag her into the van.
The woman then yelled to her daughter to run as fast as she could and tried to fight off Kristich.
She says he punched and dragged her but she was able to get away.
That is when she heard a gunshot and Kristich yelling he was going to kill her.
He then fled.
Several people at the bus stop heard the woman yelling for help and called police who found Kristich a few miles away.
