ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Albuquerque police say a man beat up his girlfriend in a middle school parking lot and threatened to kill her. The victim says her boyfriend also makes homemade explosives.
Danny Gutierrez, 32, was in court Saturday on charges including aggravated assault and kidnapping.
On Friday, cops say Gutierrez claimed his girlfriend was cheating on him and shoved her around while the two went to register Gutierrez's two children for school.
Police say the argument escalated at Jackson Middle School and Gutierrez said, "I'm going to take you to the mountains and kill you."
A woman saw the two fighting in the middle school parking lot and told Gutierrez to let go of the victim. Police say he let go and left the scene. He was later arrested.
Gutierrez's girlfriend told police that he also placed homemade landmines in his backyard.
