ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A man is accused of stealing a woman's pick-up in a church parking lot.
Police say last Sunday, a woman was parking before going to mass at St. Mary's Church on Copper northwest, when she noticed a man running towards her vehicle.
The woman tried to lock her car door, but a man identified as 32-year-old Manuel Torrez, was able to gain access to the car.
The victim struggled with Torrez, saying he choked and punched her, before she threw the keys to her pick-up outside and was able to get out.
She said Torrez then fled in her truck.
Police say he crashed the pick-up on central.
Cops then found Torrez in the back of another truck that didn't belong to him.
Torrez was arrested and was in court Saturday, charged with robbery and kidnapping.
