ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A local nursing home got a lush upgrade thanks to the Albuquerque Police Department and some volunteers.
Friday, Operation Hope improved some landscaping at the South Valley Care Center.
Members say they cleared-out the xeriscape and pulled-out weeds to create a more colorful courtyard.
"The most pleasure that we have is to be able to serve our community and for the men and women of the Albuquerque Police Department, we do that on a daily basis and this is just another way that we reach out to our communities to let them know that we care for them and that we support them," Chapel Commander, Briane Cennison, said.
Operation Hope is made-up of both sworn and civilian employees with APD.
The team works with businesses to help the community whenever they can.
