BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. (AP) — Steggy the model dinosaur at Cranbrook Institute of Science in suburban Detroit is sporting some new fashion touches.
The museum says its staff arrived Monday to find the Stegosaurus statue clad in leggings, eye patch, spike and plate "scrunchies," tail bracelets and an orange cap with a pompom on its tail.
Cranbrook says a woman identifying herself only as Jenn dressed Steggy sometime between Sunday evening and Monday morning.
In her letter, Jenn says she undertook the project to thank Steggy for inspiring her childhood love of science.
She says she was teased as a girl for being interested in paleontology "and wanting to play dinosaurs with the boys."
Cranbrook says Steggy will wear the clothes through Sunday, and they may be displayed on special occasions after that.
