ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - People determined to save the lives of children hit the pavement in downtown Albuquerque Monday.
Monday is Million March day all over the country.
It's a day where marchers try to raise awareness about child abuse and try to prevent it.
Advocates say they want tougher laws and are speaking on behalf of the millions of children who've been victimized.
"There's no excuse for child abuse. These kids are meant to be loved not hit not hurt," Rachel Lopez said. "I'd like to see all these people who've done this to these children brought to justice."
Advocates are asking everyone to look for signs of child abuse and report their suspicions.
The Children Youth and Families Department does have a hotline, just dial #7233 (#safe) from your cell phone.
If you're looking for something fun to do with the kids this weekend, or if you just want to get into the holiday spirit yourself, head out the Anderson Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum.
This is something I would have wanted to do as a kid during my winter break: Destination Moon Camp! Here to tell us all about this is Michelle Watkins with the Challenger Learning Center New Mexico.
Dinner rolls are a wonderful compliment to those holiday dishes, and shaping dough is quite easy.
