ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Officials are urging drivers to be careful on the slick roads in Albuquerque as people make their way out Tuesday morning.

Most of the snow fell Monday in the northeast heights and turned to ice overnight.

The storm moved in and dropped enough snow to make the conditions out here a little slick.

There were a number of streets throughout the city that could be seen were covered with a layer of snow and ice.

However, the black ice is proving to be a worry Tuesday morning.

Black ice and the slick conditions is what has APS and other surrounding school districts on a two hour delay.

APS says it will be too dangerous for school buses or parents to bring their kids in during the early morning hours.

They want to make sure road crews have some time to work on the roads before the buses head out.

DOT crews were out salting and cindering affected roads once the snow started falling and have been out all night and morning.

But drivers still want to be careful with the side streets that those trucks don't really hit.

Also drivers should be careful with those bridges and over passes and they tend to freeze over.
