ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The Roatcap Fire burning in Southern Colorado has prompted the evacuation of dozens of homes in the area.
That fire was first spotted near Mancos around noon Wednesday and quickly spread to 400 acres.
High voltage power lines and around 100 home are currently in the line of fire. 30 home have already been evacuated.
The Red Cross is assisting those evacuees with shelter and meals.
Back here in New Mexico the Midnight Fire burning in the Carson National Forest continues to grow. That fire has burned 429 acres since it started Tuesday. Officials hope incoming cold weather along with higher humidity help put that fire out.
The fire has moved away from Red River but two campgrounds in the Valle Vidal have been voluntarily evacuated.
