MANCOS, COLO. (KRQE) - New Mexico is not the only state dealing with massive wildfires, the Weber Fire west of Durango has now burned 8,300 acres and shows no sign of slowing.

The sheriff's office ordered evacuations for some areas Sunday.

The Weber Fire sparked in the San Juan National Forest Friday and since then it has grown to an estimated 8,300 acres.

Monday numerous water drops have been seen near homes along the south side of Highway 160 and the echo basin turnoff.

No homes have been lost, but what is being described as an outbuilding or a shed was destroyed.

The Montezuma sheriff's office evacuated about 50 to 60 homes in the area of County Road J49 and Highway 160.

There are also advisory evacuations in place for areas south of Highway 160.

The fire has not jumped highway 160, but resources are limited in the area due to the seven 7 other large wildfires burning in Colorado.

There will be a community meeting Monday night in Mancos at the high school that starts at 7:30 p.m.
