SANTA FE (KRQE) - A Santa Fe woman who survived the crash of her car on snow-slicked Interstate 25 died Sunday evening when another vehicle plowed into the wreckage.
New Mexico State Police said Dorothy Mullins, 54, was alone when she lost control of her Chevrolet on northbound I-25 near La Cienega during Sunday's storm and slid into the barrier wall. The car bounced back into traffic facing the median and blocking both lanes.
The driver of a Chevrolet truck apparently did not see Mullin's car and hit it broadside, State Police reported.
Mullins died at the scene.
The crash shut down northbound I-25 during the investigation.
The investigating officer reported neither alcohol nor seatbelt use contributed to the crash and fatality while the snowpacked and icy roadway was a factor.
The name of the driver of the truck and the extent of his or her injuries have not been released.
