ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Storm runoff washing over Interstate 40 is slowing traffic east of Gallup, New Mexico State Police are reporting.

State Police said I-40 has not been closed but warned additional heavy rain is possible in the area for the rest of the day.

The flooding is near I-40 mile marker 33 in the area of Fort Wingate.

The adjacent frontage road--State Route 118--has been close in the same area.
