Fatal crash shuts section of I-25

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Albuquerque police have closed southbound Interstate 25 at Jefferson Street NE as officers investigate a fatal crash.
Traffic is being diverted at Jefferson to Pan American Freeway NE, the I-25 frontage road.
The crash also has caused a slowdown on the northbound side of the freeway although no lanes are closed.
Police said a motorcyclist apparently lost control and swerved into a help truck that was assisting a motorist parked on the median shoulder.
The motorcyclist, whose name has not been released, died at the scene.
The crash happened about 3:45 p.m.
Shortly before 5 p.m. police said it could be at least two hours before the lanes reopen.
