ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A vehicle crash that injured at two people shut down the northbound lanes of Interstate 25 approaching Rio Bravo Boulevard SE for more than two hours Thursday.

The crash happened about 3:30 p.m. and involved two vehicles, according to a spokesman for the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department.

At 5 p.m. northbound lanes remained closed with traffic being diverted off the interstate at the Broadway Boulevard exit about five miles south of the crash.

The injured people were taken to UNM Hospital with injuries that are described as not life-threatening.  One of them was reported to be trapped in a vehicle and may have a broken leg.

A New Mexico Department of Transportation traffic camera showed southbound traffic also affected with the median lane closed south of Rio Bravo.

A KRQE News 13 photojournalist on the scene reports a second crash occurred in the backup from the first crash..
