ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The Lobos took off to Salt Lake City Tuesday and are getting ready to take on Harvard Thursday night.

It’s one of the best teams the lobos have ever had and there's a lot of excitement across Albuquerque:

The Lobos loaded up on the bus Tuesday afternoon. From there it was off to the Sunport were they will be flying to Salt Lake City, Utah.

Number 3 seed New Mexico takes on 14th seed Harvard in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Thursday night at 7:50 p.m. on TNT.

Fans are hoping to at least see the Lobos make it for the first time to the Sweet 16.

”You got Tony playing good...you got Jamal coming off the bench, you got big 5-3...we're going to be good...if we can get Williams to keep dunking and shooting those three pointers I think we'll be alright if we play that defense all the way through,” Ike Davis said.

“I’m so psyched,” Bob Cummings said. “It's great to see them in the tournament again especially with the number three seed. I think they can really go a long way this year they've got some opponents they can beat.”

Local tickets to the game sold out fast Monday, if you want one you'll have to search online through sites like StubHub and Craigslist.

Fans can ride the bus to Salt Lake City with Tix for Kids group, it will cost $425.

Tuesday the organizer announced he has 25 tickets to the game that passengers on the bus can buy for $75 to $125.
