FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Carl Edwards and Tony Stewart are the top contenders in the NASCAR Sprint Cup points chase going into Sunday's race at Texas.

There is a tale of the tape and even lockers complete with boxing gloves and robes for Cousin Carl vs. Smoke. This "Texas Title Fight" will be on the track without Kyle Busch.

Edwards has an eight-point lead over Stewart, who last week won for the third time in seven Chase races.

Busch was barred from driving in the Cup and Nationwide races. NASCAR took that rare step after Busch deliberately wrecked championship contender Ron Hornaday Jr. in the Truck Series race Friday night.

Denny Hamlin finished second filling in for Busch in the Nationwide race Saturday, just ahead of Edwards.
