Crews clean up after Luminaria Tour

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Monday night's Luminaria Tour was a little wind-blow but folks didn't seem to mind and today they started cleaning up the glowing bags.

We found one crew who makes the daunting task look easy.

“It probably three or four hours to set up and just an hour or two hours to take down,” a worker said.

Eagle Scout Karson Smith and his troop set up hundreds of luminarias Monday night in Albuquerque’s country club area.

Thirty six thousand people bought tickets for the sold out tour and thousands more walked the route.

Winds made things a bit tricky and that makes clean up harder, with sand spilling onto the sidewalks, but smith and his group say it wouldn't be Christmas without this tradition.

“Last night we actually had a couple kids from college who are ex-scouts come back from Minnesota and Colorado come down and help us out with it too,” Smith said.

If you missed the show last night, there are still some luminarias set up in the area.
