SANTA FE (KRQE) - Hundreds of people are waking up with their troubles burned away Friday.

Old Man Gloom was set on fire in front of a big crowd Thursday evening at Fort Marcy Park in Santa Fe.

The Burning of Zozobra was delayed until about 9:45 p.m. because of winds.

The event kicks off the three days of Fiesta de Santa Fe.

This year organizers raised the price of tickets by five dollars, which made Zozobra tickets $20 at the gate. But the price hike didn’t deter folks from showing up to see Old Man Gloom go up in flames.

The tradition dates back to 1924.
