ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Governor Susana Martinez has declared Friday a statewide day of mourning. The mourning is to recognize the one-week anniversary of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary school in Connecticut.

The governor is also asking for a moment of silence Friday morning at 9:30.

The proclamation was made after a request from Connecticut Governor Dan Malloy to the nation's governors.
