Family says suspect is not monster

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - In a statement released Tuesday, relatives of Nehemiah Griego say he is not the monster the media is making him out to be.
The statement describes the 15-year-old teen as a bright, curious and incredibly talented young man who made a terrible decision - one that will haunt him and his family for the rest of their lives.
“Something went terribly wrong, whether it was a mental breakdown or some deeper undiagnosed psychological issue,” the statement reads.
