CUBA, N.M. (KRQE) - Reports of shots fired near Cuba Elementary School prompted the lockdown of three schools.

Just before noon Thursday the Sandoval County Sheriff’s Department received reports of shots fired near the Cuba school complex.  The Elementary, Middle and High School in Cuba are in close proximity of one another.

New Mexico State and Cuba Police along with Sandoval County Sheriff’s Department all responded to the scene to search the area.   They were unable to find any shooter or evidence of one.

The lockdowns were lifted at all three schools and students were dismissed at the normal time.
