(AP) - Country stars are upset with Ashton Kutcher, but he swears he wasn't making fun of Nashville when he appeared at the ACMs singing part of a George Strait song and wearing a 10-gallon hat and red blazer.

He gave the female vocalist of the year award to Miranda Lambert. But Lambert tweeted this question afterward: "Was Ashton Kutcher making fun of country?"

Justin Moore thinks so. Moore tweeted that he doesn't like "people making a mockery of the way country artists dress."

Kutcher tweeted his defense. He wrote that he's "one of the biggest country music fans you've ever met." He says he "wasn't making fun at all."
