Beautician charged in breast injections

TYLER, Texas (AP) - An East Texas beautician is jailed after she was accused of administering breast augmentation injections.

Tyler police say one customer ended up hospitalized in critical condition with chest pain after injections from Carmel Mitchelle Foster-Alexander at her Queen Divas Hair Salon and Spa.

Police spokesman Donald Martin says Foster was arrested about 1 p.m. Thursday after a tip led Harrison County sheriff's deputies to a rural house about 5 miles north of Marshall. She's booked into the Harrison County Jail in Marshall, awaiting return to Smith County. Bonds total $200,000.

A police statement says Foster is charged with two counts of practicing medicine without a license, but Martin says other injection recipients have come forward and more charges are possible. Jail records list no attorney for Foster.
