ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A massive fire burned through the night in an Albuquerque junk yard.

The blaze erupted just before 1 a.m. at Ace Metals off Second Street SW north of Rio Bravo Boulevard.

Flames were reported to be shooting more than two stories high.

About 10 units from Bernalillo County Fire Department responded.

A lot of scrap metal including an old bus caught fire.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze although cranes had to be brought in to move metals, tires and large buses to reveal hot spots.

There were reports of several bonfires in the area before the fire was reported.

This is the same area where large scrap fire burned last year prompting health advisories to be issued because of the smoke from the various burning materials.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
