LAS VEGAS, N.M. (KRQE) - A Las Vegas city employee has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a fellow employee during a safety training session.

Officials say a 30 year-old utilities worker, Christopher Gallegos, is now charged with assault and battery.

Police say it all started on Thursday, when Gallegos and the victim were joking with each other.

That turned into horseplay but the two were armed with knives.

The victim was stabbed once in the back of the leg as he tried to jump out of the way.
