SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - Santa Fe has hired a law firm to determine if city Councilwoman Patti Bushee failed to disclose a conflict of interest with a developer.
Bushee says the allegations are false and politically motivated.
The investigation was prompted by claims the Santa Fe New Mexican reports (http://bit.ly/HS6P0Z) were made by developer Steve Duran.
Duran is a partner in a firm building an underground parking garage in the Santa Fe Railyard. The company has been in a dispute with the city over the $14 million garage contract.
It's threatened to sue over claims that delays and property title issues hindered its ability to get financing for two private development projects above the garage.
Bushee says the conflict claims are an attempt to keep her out of city dealings with the development company.
