SANTA FE (KRQE) - A majority of New Mexicans favor reforming the state's marijuana to reduce penalties for possession, according to a poll to be released by an advocacy group Tuesday.

The New Mexico Drug Policy Alliance scheduled a late-morning news conference at the Capitol to release the results of its survey.

Among those scheduled to attend were state Rep. Emily Kane, D-Albuquerque, who has a bill to reduce penalties pending in the current legislative session, and Sen. Gerald Ortiz y Pino, D-Albuquerque, who has introduced a legislative memorial calling for a study of legalizing, regulating and taxing marijuana in the state.
