ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Another mayoral candidate has officially thrown his hat into the ring for Albuquerque's October election.
Paul Heh formally announced his candidacy in front of supporters at Civic Plaza on Saturday.
Heh, a retired Albuquerque Police Department sergeant, is running on a platform focused on education and economic growth.
"To bring careers into this city so that we can get our citizens working and have a job, have a way to support their families," Heh said. "We have to stop the bleeding of business leaving Albuquerque."
Heh is the second person to officially announce his candidacy. Former City Councilor Pete Dinelli made his announcement last month.
While Mayor Richard J. Berry is widely expected to seek re-election, he has yet to formally announce his candidacy for a second term.
