State Fair takes precautions against swine flu

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - New Mexico State Fair officials say they are working with state health and livestock officials to protect the public from swine flu.

Officials say the have added extra hand-washing stations for areas where animals are housed.

Nearly 300 cases of swine flu linked to farms and fairs have been reported across the U.S. although none have been reported in New Mexico.

The state fair starts Wednesday and runs through Sunday, September 23rd.
