ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Tens of thousands of New Mexico kids do not have enough food to eat.

So Tuesday, Governor Susana Martinez is trying to do something about that.

The governor is forming a new task force that will look at the issue and try to figure out what more needs to be done.

Part of the goal is to pool the different resources and make it easier to get food to these kids.

Those at Cuidando Los Ninos, work every day to help families who are struggling.

”Food is not high on the priority and of course there's no money…so when the children come to us they get a healthy breakfast lunch and snack everyday,” Maria Gundy said.

The task force will also help unite public and non-profit parties that want to help identify new solutions to the hunger problem.
