ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A fatal crash on I-40 Sunday morning caused a backup for hours and left one man pinned underneath a semi.
All lanes are back open now.
It happened around 7 a.m. Sunday, when state police say a semi truck and a motorcycle crashed leaving the biker pinned underneath the truck.
According to witnesses, the motorcyclist, John Hamilton, 59, was trying to merge onto I-40 westbound at the 194 onramp when the crash occurred.
Investigators say he was thrown from the motorcycle and has died.
Police say he was not wearing a helmet.
