NM task force on standby for Sandy

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - New Mexico’s Urban Search and Rescue team is on standby, ready to go to the east coast if needed.

There are only 28 of these teams across the country, many of them have already been sent east.

The teams are made up of firefighters, engineers, doctors, and EMTs.

New Mexico’s team responded to 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina.
