CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) - The International Space Station is operating normally again following a series of spacewalking repairs.
The crew installed a new ammonia coolant pump Monday. That enabled flight controllers to activate the coolant loop that was knocked offline July 31st.
The orbiting lab needs two functioning cooling lines to keep on-board electronics from overheating.
NASA said Wednesday that all of the equipment that was turned off following the breakdown is running again. Science research should resume Thursday.
The two U.S. astronauts who performed the three spacewalks got some time off Wednesday. On Thursday, they will remove a jumper cable that provided cooling to equipment on the Russian side.
