ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A stretch of Interstate 40 had to be shut down Saturday because of a horrible crash between a semi truck and a motorcycle.

A pair of motorcycles tried to merge from I-25 south, to I-40 westbound.

One of the motorcycles got pulled into the rear tires of a semi truck which then dragged the motorcyclist for a mile on the interstate.

The woman riding the motorcycle was killed.

Police say the semi-truck driver did not even know he was dragging the woman until other drivers were able to get his attention.

The victim's identity has still not been released.
