LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - Police in Las Cruces ticketed 49 drivers during a crackdown on seat belt and cell phone violators.
Police say 20 drivers were cited for not wearing seat belts and 11 for using their cell phones while driving.
The remaining tickets issued during a special operation Wednesday went to drivers who had illegally tinted windows or were driving without proof of insurance.
Police tell the Las Cruces Sun-News ( http:// bit.ly/ IAOa51 ) they plan more targeted enforcement operations.
