Gallup veteran gets earned medals

GALLUP, N.M. (KRQE) - It's been 40 years, but a Gallup native finally has his medals for serving his country in Vietnam.
Ivan Pena, who served in the army from 1971 to 1973, was ambushed several times while in his unit but never sought to get his medals until his nephews asked to display them.
So Congressman Ben Ray Lujan's office worked to get the several medals he earned, including the Vietnam Service Medal with three bronze stars.
