HOBBS, N.M. (KRQE) - The city of Hobbs is planning to pay up to $2 million in order to save money.
According city manager J.J. Murphy city employees have logged more than 148,000 hours of sick leave in 2012.
The Hobbs News Sun reports, the city has now decided to buy out people's time at cost of $1.7 million and change its sick/vacation policy.
The change will prevent people from accruing time year after year and help save the city about $400,000 a year.
