GRANTS, N.M. (KRQE) - A man is dead after two semi trucks crashed into each other on I-40 east of Grants, New Mexico late Wednesday night.

Cops say one truck was pulling back onto the highway after fixing a tire.

That's when police think a FedEx truck driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel and collided with the semi.

The passenger in the FedEx truck died at the scene.

The driver of the FedEx truck was taken to the hospital.

No word on the condition of the diesel truck driver.
