ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Taxpayers and New Mexico will have to pay a lot of money to a man the Public Regulation Commission fired after he pointed out some problems.
The Santa Fe New Mexican says a jury recently gave Aaron Feliciano $355,000. However, because it is part of the state's Whistleblower Protection Act it gets doubled to $710,000.
Feliciano got fired from his job as the compliance director for the PRC's insurance division in 2009 after complaining that his supervisors were hiring political contributors.
